FRANKFURT, Germany, April 20, 2016 – The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced the recipient of the 2016 Global Executive of the Year Award as Janet Tan-Collis, Chief Executive of East West Planners Pte Ltd.
The award, presented by Sherrif Karamat, PCMA COO, during tonight’s IMEX Gala Dinner, celebrates meeting executives who demonstrate a vision, commitment and passion for the advancement and education of the global meetings industry.
Singaporean Tan-Collis has successfully executed business events throughout Asia for more than 30 years, served on multiple Boards, and is highly regarded in the industry for mentorship, her advocacy of industry education and professional development.
Her commitment to serve and give back to the industry is apparent through her involvement in driving the re-alignment of the continuing education offerings and training opportunities for SACEOS (Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers) and its sister associations in Asia. Because of Tan-Collis’ leadership, and championing of industry events such as the first Asia Meeting and Incentive Travel Exchange, it is much easier for event organisers in Asia to work toward their CMP.
“Janet is an accomplished global business events professional” said Karamat. “She is an excellent leader and mentor; bringing incredible energy and enthusiasm to the betterment of the global business events industry in the APAC region. Janet epitomizes the spirt of this award and I was honored to recognize her accomplishments.”
