Singapore Institute of Technology team to present at 2020 PCMA Convening Leaders
A proposal to develop a medical and wellness tourism event was selected as the winner of the 2019 Singapore MICE Challenge, an annual competition among Singapore students interested in becoming business events professionals.
Wong Lik Hung Dalton, Bronte Bernadette Santa Maria, Uzen Tan and Emmaline Woo Suci of Team Voyage from Singapore Institute of Technology were among the six finalist teams of schools participating in the 26th July 2019 live competition, the fifth year of the PCMA Foundation sponsored event.
“It has been a privilege for the PCMA Foundation to be affiliated with this outstanding student programme,” said Meredith Rollins, PCMA’s chief community officer and PCMA Foundation’s executive director. “Each year, we are impressed by the talent and passion of the participating students. We look forward to rewarding the winning team with an educational experience at our January 2020 Convening Leaders event in San Francisco.”
The Singapore MICE Challenge, held annually in conjunction with the Singapore MICE Forum, is an initiative created in 2015 by SACEOS and supported by PCMA Foundation. More than 43 teams from the tertiary institutions and universities in Singapore have participated in the competition designed to provide a platform for hands-on experience and teamwork. The event also allows participants to gain experience presenting in front of an audience of experienced business events professionals.
The winning event, Singapore Medical and Wellness Tourism 2020, aims to provide a consumer platform with pricing transparency, showcase Southeast Asian medical and wellness offerings to the global market and curate an online medical and wellness market place.
The winning team will present their ideas at 2020 PCMA Convening Leaders in San Francisco. The Jan. 5-8 event, hosted by the San Francisco Travel Association at the Moscone Center, is a premier annual event for the business events industry.
