Melbourne Convention Bureau CEO Karen Bolinger takes up to 10 long-haul flights per year.
While in the air, Bolinger likes to de-stress and rehydrate with a cup of tea. “The one big thing I crave is a good pot of tea,” she said. “I travel with my own just so I can make a cup of tea wherever I am.”
Bolinger also believes that hotels need to focus on personalisation to better cater to frequent business travellers.
“Even with the abundance of data available through loyalty programmes,” she said, “I don’t believe hotels have got it right. As much as I appreciate the plate of chocolates and wine left in my room, my real preference would be a kettle, pot of loose-leaf tea, and a bowl of fresh fruit.”
