Join us for the PCMA PHL Chapter Retreat on July 16-17! This year’s Chapter Retreat will be held at Camelback Resort in the Poconos, and will include opportunities for education, networking, socializing, and fun! During the retreat, participants will:
- Explore the relationship between acceptance and resilience, examining how embracing acceptance can lead to greater emotional resilience, improved coping strategies, and enhanced overall mental health outcomes
- Learn effective strategies and techniques for preventing and managing burnout in the event planning industry
- Consider the importance of creating and leaning into a supportive work community (both external and internal), and how that can impact overall job satisfaction and effectiveness
- Connect with colleagues from the industry

2:30-4:45pm: Onsite Teambuilding Activities at Camelbeach & Cabana for PCMA PHL Members
5:45pm: Transportation departs for Welcome Reception at the Summit House at Camelback (Please note: Spouses, significant others, and family members are welcome at this reception. Please do not bring non-member, industry guests. Membership to PCMA and the Greater Philadelphia Chapter are required.)

Membership Requirements: To attend the Chapter Retreat, you must be a PCMA member in good standing including an active membership with the PCMA Greater Philadelphia Chapter. For more information about membership, click here. If you are a member of PCMA, but not a member of the Philadelphia Chapter, please add Philadelphia as a secondary chapter for $30.00. Email [email protected] with the request to add the chapter to your membership. After payment, please send confirmation to [email protected].
Camelback is pleased to offer complimentary rooms to meeting planners and will waive the resort fee for the meeting planners’ rooms. Suppliers are offered a rate of $229, plus tax, and a $39.99 resort fee. Most attendees stay over the night of Tuesday, July 16th. The hotel is holding a few rooms on the nights of Monday, July 15th and Wednesday, July 17th for those wanting to extend their visit.
General Rate Information
- Room rates are subject to applicable taxes, currently 6% state sales tax and 3% local occupancy tax. Applicable taxes are subject to change without notice.
- Rates are net, non-commissionable.
- All overnight guests receive access to Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark with access beginning at 12:00pm on the day of arrival through time of closing on day of departure.
Check-in/Check-out: Check-in begins at 4:00pm. Check-out is at 11:00am. Guests arriving prior to 4:00pm will be checked-in immediately if their room type is ready and available. Otherwise, guests arriving prior to 4:00pm may pre-register and enjoy resort amenities as early as 12:00pm.
Resort Fee: In addition to the specified rates above, a nightly resort fee of $39.99, plus tax, will be assessed on the supplier rooms. The Resort Fee is an automatic per room, per night charge that covers a number of hotel services and amenities that would customarily be charged to each guest individually. These amenities include (not limited to): High Speed Internet, Fitness Center, Inter-Resort Shuttle Services, In-room safe, Seasonal Crafts and Activities, Concierge Services, and more. Plus, Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is always included with every stay. As a “per room” rather than “per person” charge, the Resort Fee covers all registered guests. The Resort Fee is subject to change without notice.
Parking: Camelback Lodge is pleased to waive self-parking charges (normally $25.00 per vehicle, per night) for PCMA PHL attendees.
Reservation Procedure, Individual Basis: Please contact the hotel directly by or before the cutoff date of Monday, July 1, 2024, at 1-855-515-1283. Please book a room under PCMA Greater Philadelphia Chapter Retreat Jul2024, Booking ID # 13053, or by booking online using the Group’s booking ID. Planners will book their rooms at the $229.00 rate. The room fee for the planners will be waived prior to check-in.
Guaranteed Reservations: All reservations must be guaranteed. A deposit equal to the first night’s room and tax will be required at the time of reservation. Guaranteed reservations will be held until Midnight on the date of arrival. Guests who fail to check in or cancel a guaranteed reservation will be considered a “no-show”. Reservations that “no-show” result in subsequent nights of the scheduled stay being cancelled unless a request to reinstate the reservation is received by the guaranteeing party.
Individual Pays All Charges: Each guest will be responsible for payment of guest room, tax, resort fee and incidentals. Each guest will be required to pay a deposit equal to the first night’s room and tax at the time of reservation and must present a valid major credit card along with photo ID upon check-in to access ancillary services. Cancellation requests received more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled arrival will be subject to a $100.00 processing fee. The balance of the advance deposit will be refunded. Cancellation requests received later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled arrival will forfeit the entire first night’s deposit.
