Event planners booking a meeting in Anaheim, California, might assume that attendees are over Disneyland. But the legendary theme park offers more than just thrill rides and character encounters — it also features a number of private event spaces hidden in plain sight within the park.

One such destination is Starcade, a former arcade located within the original 1955 Disneyland resort. Though the space sits in Tomorrowland — just steps away from Disney-goer favorites like Star Tours and Space Mountain — guests immediately forget they’re in a theme park when they step into the elegant, open event area that is built to welcome up to 200 guests.

“This flexible space acts as a blank canvas that can be dramatically transformed to accommodate a wide variety of themes, décor and entertainment,” wrote the Disney Meetings Team on its official blog.

Planners are encouraged to work with the Disney Event Group to build a magical guest experience, and are able to customize everything from the décor to the food and beverage options. Cocktail receptions, family-style meals, and dessert parties are all options on the table when it comes to planning an evening at Starcade. When Convene dropped by the venue in July 2017, we feasted on “Walt Disney’s favorite foods” — including macaroni and cheese with panko crust, roasted chicken, mini baked potatoes, chicken-fried steak medallions, and more.
