Startup Grind 2017 Global Conference

Overview
Sometimes called “the United Nations for startups,” the Startup Grind Global Conference is an annual event designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. This year, it will draw 5,000 founders from 87 countries, more than 150 technology leaders speaking across four stages, and 120 startups chosen from 213 cities in the Startup Grind network.
CHALLENGES
While the Global Conference is a public event for company founders to connect with prospective hires, investors, journalists, and mentors, it’s also a private summit for speakers and the “family” of Startup Grind global directors to meet with each other. “Getting directors from 87 countries comfortable in one place is a monumental feat,” said Michael Gasiorek, Startup Grind’s editor in chief. “We’re working with a huge, culturally diverse group that is putting their business on hold to connect with colleagues they’ll really only see once that year. Making this a can’t-miss event for our directors is a huge priority for us, and the biggest challenge alongside planning the conference itself.” Attendees will hear from the founders and CEOs of Waze, Tinder, and Oracle, among other high-profile companies.
INITIATIVES
“We’re doubling nearly everything this year,” Gasiorek said. “We’ve added a brand-new stage of programming, doubled attendees to 5,000, and increased the capacity of our successful Startup Program [a startup exhibitor showcase] to bring more founders from around the world to [Silicon] Valley. We’re using Bevy [event software] to make it all possible. Couldn’t make this event work without it!”
