Majority of Travel Buyers View Meetings Market as Stable

Maxvantage, an alliance formed between American Express Business Travel and Maritz Travel, has released data from its Travel Buyers Survey. Among the findings, 60 percent of respondents indicated that the meetings industry is gradually improving and feel it is stable.
Center for Exhibition Industry Research Releases Second-Quarter Data

Despite an encouraging forecast of an overall 7-percent spending increase on meetings and conventions this year, data released last week by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) for its annual CEIR Index report reflected a 1.4-percent decline in the exhibition industry during 2010's second quarter.
Expansion and Renovation of Biloxi, Miss., Convention Center Dedicated

A new $118-million expansion and renovation of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center, in Biloxi, Miss., was formally dedicated last week, reports the Associated Press. The expansion added 220,00 square feet of meeting space to the convention center, bringing its total meeting space to 400,000 square feet.
Show Organizers Respond Positively to McCormick Place Labor Changes
